Amanda's Breast Augmentation Journal

I am Amanda Moss and I live in North Carolina. I have always wanted to do this even after my oldest son, who is now 9, was born. I have a 7 year old and a 5 year old and can't have anymore children. I am 27 years old and my husband and I own 2 businesses down here in the mountains. I have fluctuated over the years in weight so one month I was a size 4 and 6 months down the line I was an 8 well after going through a rough time in my life I had lost my hearing in both ears to an illness about 4 years ago and myself and my family had to learn sign language and I had to go through 5 day a week speech therapy classes so I could maintain the ability to talk. About a year ago I had surgery to repair my left ear and can now hear fairly well with a hearing aid. When this miracle happened I decided to lose the weight I had put on due to depression from the hearing loss (I was then a size 12) I lost 42 pounds and a size 5 now and feeling wonderful. Due to extreme illness during my pregnancies I gained 130 pounds (yes you read that right) with each child so my breast had severe ptosis (sagging) I decided to finish my journey with a lift and an augmentation and after about 4 months of consultations and research I settled on Dr. Kloster in Atlanta its a 2 and a half hour drive for me but he was worth it his credentials are impeccable and his bedside manner is awesome. I had my consultation on a Monday with him (after having 9 others with other Doctors I wasn't impressed with) and the next week on Wed. the 16th of April 2003 I was in the operating room having it done. The pain was worse than my 3 c-sections put together but I would not change it for the world.

Now I have become a hypochondriac over the last 3 weeks but am trying to settle down. I had a donut lift with 575 cc (before I was a long A and now a D) behind the muscle with the incision under my armpit well the incision opened up on my right side but is healing nicely and my left implant wont budge so there is some skin there that's not filled in. I look like a long jelly bean but know now that its normal and will go away with some time. after having my stitches taken out yesterday we decided to go ahead on the 30th of June and do a minor in office lift to fill in the remaining skin. When I lift my breast a little at the top I see the breast that I so desperately want. so Dr. Kloster will reopen the incision and lift about a half an inch on both sides. the great thing about it is all I have to pay for is the anesthesia and the materials which is only $75 he is so wonderful and understanding about what a women needs and is reasonable on his prices.

Now I am wearing these really great support bra's from Target and that God awful strap to try and get my implants to settle. The massages he has ordered me to do every night still hurt but they don't harm so I still do them. I just hope that nothing goes wrong this has been my dream for so long and after 9 years never setting foot in a bathing suit (and I am in my 20's I should enjoy that period of my life) I am going bathing suit shopping after my lift.

Needless to say I am thrilled and appreciative of all those on the chat rooms because if wasn't for them I would be calling my Dr. everyday asking if this and that pain was okay and was this feeling normal etc. I really enjoy your web site and have never seen so much information on one site. You guys are a life saver and I would love to post my story if you like and help others. Also I haven't used up the film yet on my camera and have been doing weekly pictures of the development of my new breast so when those are developed I will be more than happy to send them.

Thanks for having such wonderful people available for those of us who are just beginning in this journey.

~Amanda
