Reason For Wanting A BA:
I was tired of always feeling like I'd never really developed like all of my other friends. And going shopping for swimsuits and bras was a nightmare!
Research Done And Finding A P.S.:
If it hadn't been for this web site I would be lost. I did most of my research and asked a lot of questions here. The women here are so helpful and really care. I probably drove them crazy with my decision on how many cc's I was going to go with.
Consultation:
When I got in the Doctor's office, everyone was so nice to me and Dr. Hedden took his time with me to answer all my questions and help me confirm what size I wanted. I thought the 360's looked HUGE when I put them in my bra but he assured me that would put me where I wanted to be at a full C. I even scheduled my surgery date while I was there at the consultation.
Preparing For Surgery:
Was totally crazy. I had 3 weeks to plan for it and I thought I would go insane before my surgery date. Even trying to decide what type of outfit to wear to surgery was driving me nuts because I despise button-up and zip-up tops.
My Husband told everyone where he works. He was just as excited as I was about it, well almost.
Surgery Day:
My surgery was scheduled at 2:30 in the afternoon on November 3rd. We left around 8:00 so we could go ahead and get a motel room, pick up my medications and I wanted to bathe just before going in. It ended up being 4:30 before they called me to come in because their was another woman ahead of me that I think was having a face lift because it was a four hour surgery.
Anyway, they took me back to a room and told me to take off my top and put on this wrap with a velcro closure in the front and then a nurse came in and put in my IV. Then the Anesthesiologist came in and she lead me into the operating room and told me to get onto the table. It looked kind of scary in there with all the equipment laying around. But once I laid down and got comfortable, I was out.
The next thing I know, they are helping me into a wheel chair and we were headed for the parking lot.
Recovery:
When we got back to the motel room, I remember begging my Husband for some more pain meds because I was in some real pain. I really didn't feel the pressure on the chest like so many women say, but I had what felt like some extremely sore chest muscles because they went underneath the muscle.
I really don't remember a whole lot the first 3 days because I was really medicated. I did ask my Husband to kill what I thought was a spider crawling on the Doctor's office wall the next day but he assured me it was just an indentation in the wall. I swore it was moving around!
By Wednesday afternoon, I got brave enough to want to get a shallow bath, careful not to soak my sutures. I couldn't imagine standing in the shower. I slept with my heating pad faithfully in a recliner and my pain meds and muscle relaxers within arms reach.
I'm almost two weeks post-op now and I feel a lot better. I get my stitches out on the 17th and I can't wait! I'm not looking forward to the swelling to go away though because I love the size of them now. But I am sure I will still be equally happy when they soften & fluff!
