Angel's New Boobies
It all began in June of 2001. I never before thought at all about getting Breast Augmentation till one day a friend of mine got it done and I was kidding around with my husband about me being the next one to get it. Of course he said I didn’t need it but at about that time I started looking in the mirror more and noticing that I really needed to get something done. My breasts were real low on my chest. So I made a consultation appointment for September, but a week before it I cancelled, I chickened out. The only time I had to take off of work was in October so I passed it up and the whole winter I regretted it. So from July last year I did all the research I could on it and tried to find out about all of my options. So I felt prepared when I finally made my consultation on May 21,2002 with Dr. Khoobehi. A friend of mine recommended him to me through some friends of hers that used him before for other things (not breasts). So when I got there he showed me a lot of pictures of BA’s that he has done and they looked great. He was so sweet and offered as much info as he could to me about the procedure. I felt so comfortable talking with him so I made an appointment to do the surgery on June 18.
I originally wanted to just get a lift to put me a little higher. I was happy with my size, and I liked how I looked in clothes, but when I didn’t have a bra on my boobs just hung there. Dr. Khoobehi said I did not qualify for a lift and said that a small implant would give me the lift that I wanted. So I agreed. He originally thought that he would use 350cc’s and told me that many women who get this come back and wished they had gone bigger, so when I had gone back for my pre-op he decided to go with 400cc’s. He said it would bring me to a D cup. I was a little shocked, I just thought “that’s gonna be BIG”, but he’s done hundreds of these, he should know. So, I agreed.
I will be getting 400cc’s under the muscle, Mentor Smooth Round Saline.
That is bringing me from a saggy 34C to a full 34D.
My surgery was scheduled for Tuesday, June 18, 2002 at 11:00. I got to the Outpatient Center at 10:00 to meet the anesthesiologist and get my IV started and get set up for surgery. I was sooo nervous, but even more excited! My blood pressure stayed at 150 over100. They gave me a shot in the IV and I don’t even think it took 5 seconds for it to work. I remember them rolling me into the OR, but I only remember barely seeing anything in the room, then I was out. My husband said the whole surgery lasted one hour and I woke up about 1:00 and not in any pain, just a little pressure on my chest, starving, and needing to pee real bad. The nurse helped me to get dressed and it was funny when I first tried to stand up it felt like I had an extra 50 lbs on my chest. I thought I was gonna fall over. LOL Then that was it, time to go home.
The ride home wasn’t bad. When I got home the rest of the day was spent in the recliner. My wonderful husband waiting on me hand and foot. I was on my meds so all that day and all the next day I was totally out of it, but not much pain. I had to see what they looked like so when I stood in front of the mirror all I thought was OMG, they look like 2 BIG shiny torpedoes. I just had to keep telling myself they were just swollen, they will look better in a few days. And they did. Only 2 days later they were looking good, just HUGE.
I had to go to the doctor the day after my surgery where he took the ace bandages off of me. He had them wrapped around the top and bottom of my breasts. He then gave me a surgical bra to wear 24/7.
By the third day I was up and around doing little things. Friday I was back at work, just moving slow and taking my time. Not lifting anything or reaching too much. I couldn’t believe I was not hurting like all of the horror stories I’ve heard about. It was mostly just uncomfortable. I could not lay in the bed for almost 2 weeks, I slept on the recliner.
I had my one-week follow-up on the next Wednesday. He took the stitches out, which burned like fire. He said I was healing up wonderfully. I have to wear the bra for 2 more weeks. He told me to use Mederma on the scars and to start massaging 3 times a day. I was very concerned with how tender I was on the sides of my breasts under my arms, but he said that was normal due to him cutting the nerves, they are just healing. Other than that I had no other questions or concerns. I think it was because of me being on this wonderful site, yall answered most of my questions already with yall’s experiences. Now I’m just waiting for my one-month check-up. But I think everything is fine.
I’m a few days away from 3 weeks and I feel wonderful. A little tenderness and soreness every now and then, but for the most part, my breasts are starting to feel very natural and a part of me. I’m getting used to them being there now. My Doctor did a wonderful job and I would recommend him to anyone.
I am soooo happy with my new boobies!!!!
4 Weeks----
I feel like my old self again, just better. I am sleeping very comfortable, even waking up sometimes on my stomach. A little scary right when I wake up, but then I realize it doesn’t hurt at all. I’m back doing everything again. I hope the swelling has finished going down. I love the size of my new boobs. I am now a 34DD.
6 Months----
I love my new additions. If I had it to do all over again, I would in a heartbeat. I had no complications. I think I should have gone maybe another 50 cc’s though, hubby thinks I’m crazy--he loves them. J Doc says he used 375cc’s instead of 400 like I thought.
