Caren T's Breast Augmentation Journal

Hello, my name is Caren and I am 5’5”, 128 lbs and I was a 34b before my ba. I actually had pretty nice looking breasts before my surgery, but I just wanted to be bigger and to actually fill out a shirt appropriately! I did have slight asymmetry, but nothing that you would really notice unless you stared at them for a long period of time. I became really interested in getting a ba after a few women that I work with had done it, all with good results. I had been toying with the idea for a couple of years and had been doing a lot of research on the web. I came across the BreastImplants4you site in April of 2003 and the message forum really helped answer a lot of my questions. After one of the girls at my work had gotten a ba from Dr. Sean Lille of Scottsdale, AZ I decided that I would finally schedule a consultation. She had nothing but good things to say about Dr. Lille so I really hoped I would like him when I met him because I didn’t really want to go on a lot of consultations. When I finally made the appointment my husband was surprised because I kept talking about it, but the fact that I finally took some action on it was amazing!

The day of my consultation I felt very relaxed, but once I got into the office my palms started to sweat! I don’t know why I was so nervous. The office was really nice, and the staff was friendly, so far, so good! One of the girls at the front gave me a form that listed all of the complications that could happen with a ba. I read through it, but most of it I was already familiar with from my research. When I got called back, Dr. Lille asked me if I had any questions about any of the complications and I really didn’t. He went ahead and measured me and asked what size I was shooting for. I told him a full C or small D sounded good. He recommended 380 cc’s to get me to where I wanted. I’m no good with the cc’s thing, so I told him whatever he thought would look good to go for it. He had me look through some of his portfolio of pictures to confirm and told me at my pre-op to bring in pictures of sizes that I liked. I really liked Dr. Lille and knew he was going to perform my surgery. I went ahead and scheduled for the pre-op. I had to wait 3 months to schedule for the surgery because of my schedule at work. (I’m a hairdresser)

That time dragged! Ug! I was online on the message boards every moment I got. I was obsessed with boobs! Finally my pre-op came around and my husband came with me, since he was the one that was going to take care of me post-op. I brought my pictures with me and told the Dr. I was leaning more towards a D cup. He said he would get me as big as he could without risking any complications and keeping my body proportional. It sounded good to me! He took my pre-op pictures and told me he would see me in a couple of weeks for surgery.

Surgery time came around on Aug. 29th. I had an early appointment at 7:30am, so they had me show up at 6:30. I went in and signed some papers and waited for them to call me back. The nurse came to get me and had me change into little socks and a gown and a cute little hat! Haha! They hooked me up to an IV, which was no big deal. They let my husband come back and sit with me. The anesthiologist came back and introduced himself. The head nurse also came back and reviewed everything with me and made sure all of my information was right. Dr. Lille came back as well and went over what we had talked about for size. The head nurse told me that she was going to give me a “forgetful” drug, also known as “happy juice”. I remember getting rolled into the operating room and moving from one table to the other and that’s it! The next thing I know I am in my bed at home! First thing I remember doing is asking my husband for painkillers! I was feeling pain, it was hard to breath. Next thing I remember is asking my husband for my next dose of painkillers and he said I still had 2 hours before I could take them. I fell back asleep, and he woke me up for the next dose. After that, I didn’t feel any real pain at all! It was hard to get up and move around on my own, but besides that I was OK. The doctor told my husband I ended up with 420 in one side and 430 in the other, so I got more than originally thought, which is great! The next week really was a blur. My husband took me out of the house a few times I remember just to get me up and around. He took great care of me! The doctor had prescribed a painkiller. It was a generic version of Vicodin for the pain and an anti-inflammatory as well as some suppositories just in case for nausea. Fortunately, I did not have to use those. I was very good about eating a few crackers and drinking some water every time before I took my pain meds. I did go in for a post-op appointment 2 days after surgery and I remember when my ps took off the bandages I looked down and thought “Man, those are pointy!!” I actually had to suppress my laughter. I was like, “Oh my, what have I done?!” I knew down inside though that I would be going through a lot of changes, so I wasn’t too worried. I did go in about 7 days later to remove stitches. It wasn’t to bad. One side stung a bit, and the other side was a breeze! About 2 weeks out I started to get my range of motion back , and by the time I had to go back to work at 3 weeks, I was doing pretty good! I will go back for my 3 month post-op in October to take pictures and touch bases with my Doctor. So far, I have had no problems. I would definitely do it over again, no regrets….well…except…I will probably go bigger in the future!
